Posted in movember, personal, ql-25, school with tags Add new tag on November 9, 2008 by ql25wow. its november. (well, MOvember actually) and i havent updated in upwards of a month. i feel horrible as a result. truth be told ql25, you have not been neglected. a lot has been going in in ql25-land, and sadly, a lot of that is what warrants a lack up updates.
(though i will note- heccubus has also been lax in the update department, so im not feeling so bad)
as some, many, or none of you may know DJJAX and myself have parted ways. its sad and depressing, but cest la vie, life will go on. on top of the overwhelming breakup stress, i managed to catch a pretty gnarly flu bug, and wouldnt you believe it, it was also exam week! which in my case was blown into damn close to two and a half weeks of government standardized testing. the upside to all of this? i have survived. i am here. i am posting. and god willing, i will continue.
ill leave you with a video, shot by none other than one stuartthegold (who should really get on this twitter train) that ironically enough, does in fact involve captain of the good ship ql25.
so for now, fear not- ql25 is here to stay. and updates will resume. most likely tomorrow. also, keep your eyes peeled for a possible joint podcast with heccubus, but given our track record of hair-brained ideas, i cant really make any promises. until next time kids!
i dont even have a bed frame.
Posted in 1 on October 25, 2008 by ql25ive been told you can tell a lot about a person by the state of their bedroom. due to my awesome upbringing, 90% of the time, my room looks like a photoshoot from a magazine. everything put in it’s place, dusted, neat, tidy, organized- without so much as a single thing out of place. im cool with that for the most part- i find myself cleaning at odd hours of the night, or when im frustrated, or just whenever im feeling particularly OCD about everything. this week however has been different. its been a rediculously stressful week with exams, and work, and the tribulations of everyday life. this week mentally hasnt been the finest for me either, ive had two near breakdowns, and a 3 day fast.
so with that, my room has deteriorated from its once magazine-worthy splendor, into some sort of wonderfully beautiful chaotic mess. there is a pile of (clean i might add) clothing slumped up against the wall. my closet doors are slid halfway open, with dirty clothes covering my sneaker collection. my computer desk is spotted with random scraps of paper, food, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. random bits of change spot here and there on the floor- ive even spotted a 2$ coin by my door, but havent the heart to pick it up at the moment. my endtable is adorned with a large taco bell cup of pepsi (from tonight) and a single burning stick of incense. at the foot of my bed is an open 12 pack of beer, 10 empty, one on my computer desk, and one full one, which i can only assume is very warm, and very much not delicious. next to that is the bag of 60 imported condoms i snagged at the ‘everything about sex’ show in toronto, along with various lubes and other freebies that always come from going to conventions.
do you ever have one of those moments where you stop and think ‘if only my mother could see me now’?
well here, laying in bed with my laptop after a long night of sex shows, bourbon and pot, surveying my surroundings, i just had a really big one.
movember!
Posted in 1 on October 22, 2008 by ql25Hi All,
During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I’m growing a Moustache. That’s right I’m bringing the Mo back because I’m passionate about tackling men’s health issues and being proactive in the fight against prostate cancer.
To donate to my Mo you can either:
-
Click this link https://www.movember.com/ca/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink®o=1458731&country=ca and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, or
-
Write a cheque payable to the ‘Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada’, referencing my Registration Number 1458731 and mailing it to:
Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada
Attn: Movember
145 Front Street East
Suite 306
Toronto Ontario M5A 1E3
Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
The money raised by Movember is donated directly to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada who will use the funds to create awareness and fund research across the country into prevention, detection and treatment, with a goal to ending the threat of prostate cancer.
Did you know:
- Every year around 24,700 Canadian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and about 4,300 die of the disease, making it the number one cancer threat to Canadian men.
- 1 in 7 men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime.
- All men over the age of 40 are potentially at risk and should talk to their doctor about the disease and early detection. Prostate cancer is 95% curable if detected and treated early.
For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at:
[ Fundraising Outcomes ].
Movember culminates at the end of month Gala Partés. If you would like to be part of this great night you’ll need to purchase a [ Gala Parté Ticket ].
Thanks for your support,
Adam.
